Original Alex, i hope you are right. As a big BMW fan, i would love to see a BMW super car to compete with this and the R8 5.2 As for the twin turbo V12, it won’t be bespoke for the 7 series, my bet is that it will also form the basis of future RR models.

Nice car and all, but whats with all the ‘tronic’ gadgets. I mean parktronic is called reverse sensors in reality. This car may have been inspired by a plane, but a plane it isnt. Sometimes i think that Mercedes/AMG go too deep when making cars.

Alan, I have a good feeling BMW will have something to show in the next few months or so. After all, they have just built a new twin turbo 6.0 V12 and they wouldn’t go to the trouble of building a whole new engine just for the few they sell in the 7 Series. I think we’ll be seeing something from them quite soon…

Can’t wait to see what this looks like. The interior looks good and finally Mercedes have designed a nice looking steering wheel. More to the point though, CA, these pictures officially came out over a week ago.

I’m under the impression this one’ll be using a revised/improved version of the M156 engine (think C63/E63/CLK63 etc.) possibly named M159?

With that said, if it improves on what the M156 delivers, that can only be a good thing.

i really cannot wait for this car… i think it will be absolutely beautiful/amazing/sensational/everything great. haha.
already is my favourite car and i havn’t seen the whole thing! haha

stunning interior, simple and classy.

i hope they dont go all dual colour on us though (the black and red on the gullwing picture…)

Why does the word torque tube send a shiver down my spine? This equation really does sound like the most incredible AMG Benz ever:

Front-mid high revving V8
Rear mount transaxle seven speed Double Clutch Transmission
Rear wheel drive
Two seater
Gullwing doors
Excessive carbon fibre

PS, good work CA, first Benz article in what, 4 months?
