Full Throttle 2 : Day 4

We left Friedberg and headed for Frankfurt, briefly dropped in to the SINN watch factory and had a quick tour. Tony got a new watch and we continued to Dulmen, the home of Wiesmann.

Three hours of Autobahn driving and I now officially hold the land speed record at 186km/h for a petrol Ford Focus stationwagon with five people on board (although Anthony, naturally, disputes this).

The next few days are reserved for Wiesmann,  one of Germany's most bespoke supercar manufacturers.

Day one was brief, we came and had a look at the cars, got all the info, scouted the locations and began preparing for our shoot tomorrow.

To be honest, the Wiesmann GT MF5 and MF4 were not on our list of cars to drive, we had originally planned to film the Gumpert but that fell through at the last minute. When the guys from Ramspeed recommended the Wiesmann, we almost said no.

However, having now gone and seen the cars today, every single one of us has been extremely impressed. The difference between seeing the cars in person and admiring photos is resounding.

Photos simply don't do them any justice. The Wiesmann GT MF5 is breathtaking in the flesh, not to mention the sound that comes out of the BMW sourced V10.

From the Gecko shaped building to the insane showroom, this German supercar manufacturer certainly pays attention to detail.

As I am writing this now, Karl is preparing our four cameras for the shoot tomorrow.

The man from Wiesmann is giving us an MF5 and an MF4 roadster for the film, a combined total of 643kW.

It's been a long time since I've driven something that can do the 0-100km/h dash in less than four seconds so the excitement levels are rather high.

The plan is to get the MF-5 to around 280-300km/h on the autobahn. Expect a photo of that tomorrow!
