Quant e-Sportlimousine : Zero emissions concept approved for public roads

The zero emissions Quant e-Sportlimousine has been approved for use on public roads, four months after its world premiere at the 2014 Geneva motor show.

Approved for use on public roads in Germany and Europe, the Quant e-Sportlimousine employs a supposedly unique nanoFlowcell battery-based electric drive system, touted as being able to store and release electrical energy at very high energy densities.

Claiming a 0-100km/h time of 2.8 seconds and a range of over 600km, the more than 5.25 metre-long four-seat e-Sportlimousine has a projected top speed of over 350km/h and, according to the Liechtenstein-based company, “torque of four times 2900Nm”.

“This is a [sic] historic moment and a milestone not only for our company but perhaps even for the electro-mobility of the future,” nanoFlowcell AG head Nunzio La Vecchia (pictured above right) said.

“Now that the automobile has been approved for use on public roads in Germany and Europe we can enter into detailed planning with our partners, adding an exciting new chapter to the future of electro-mobility.”

La Vecchia said the approval means the company could now not only look at expanding the technology’s possible applications on an international scale, but also consider a possible public offering.

Founded in late 2013, nanoFlowcell says its team and partners are currently working on the homologation of the Quant e-Sportlimousine for series production.
