Study says Toyota world’s most valuable automotive brand
April 24, 2009 by Matt Brogan
Toyota has moved into the top 10 of the world’s leading 500 brands, according to a study by international consultancy firm Brand Finance.
The Global 500 report said Toyota retained its status as the world’s most valuable automotive brand as well as being the premier Asian brand.
“Despite the global slowdown of vehicle sales, Toyota continued to invest in the design and manufacturing of environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles,” the Global 500 report said.
Toyota’s brand value, the measure of the brand’s financial strength, was calculated at US$22 billion – lifting it from 13th to 10th place in the Global 500.
Toyota’s brand rating was lifted from AA to AAA. The rating is based on a benchmarking study of the strength, risk and future potential of a brand relative to its competitors.
The report, which was released this week, said the value of the top 500 global brands fell by 24 per cent last year, or US$707 billion, due to the financial crisis.
It said it was “an achievement” in the current climate that Toyota’s brand value fell only 16 per cent.
The second-ranked car manufacturer, BMW, had a brand value of US$13.7 billion, down more than 20 per cent from US$17.2 billion.
In Australia, Toyota is the top-selling automotive brand and has led the sales charts for the past six years in a row.
In 2008, the company sold an all-time industry record of 238,983 vehicles in Australia – more than 100,000 ahead of its nearest rival.
Toyota manufactures more cars in this country than any other company. Last year’s production tally exceeded 141,000 cars, of which more than 100,000 were exported – an Australian record.
The leading Australian-based companies were Woolworths (ranked 143) and Telstra (163), moving ahead of the National Australia Bank (256).

Tomas79, if u read a few comments up u might have seen where i mentioned RANGE ROVERs, and i do believe they are 4WD, u half-wit. So maybe if u opened ur eyes a bit and though about what ur typing before u type it u might not make any mistakes.
Put it this way since u like 4WD’s. You are not going to find a RAV4, Prado or Landcruiser as Desireable as a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, or a Land Rover Defender, Freelander 2, Discovery 3, or Range Rover Vogue
Thomas79 said “What has holden, ford or even BMW got that is desirable to us??”
Blinkered question if we ever heard one. Fool!
Car Enthusiast, this just proves you have a very limited knowledge outside of doing burnouts in your local centrelink store!! Obviously you haven’t picked up a decent offroading mag have you?! I don’t really know any offroad enthusiast that desire to own a Porsche cayenne turbo S, or a freelander or even a range rover vogue!! This cars are for the limp wristted coffe shop society !! Sure the ranger rover vogue might be the only competent one out of the the box, but Real off roaders prefer 4wd that don’t mind getting dented, are proven offroad, reliable, and most importantly easily modifiable!!
While working here in West Africa, I haven’t a seen a single 4wd you have mentioned!! But I have seen Toyotas, toyotas are the prefered choice up here!! We have a few mazdas and tritons, but everyone wants a toyota!! And jees, you are bringing up softroaders into this….And don’t get me even started on the wovs my mate had with his ld3….
No wonder Toyota is the most respected company in the world…
Cupid Stunt, you pommy punce… Please answer the question then?!!
Hard to understand how Toyota stay no 1 in the eyes of the blind when they continue to have recall after recall.
Toyota quality,dont make me laugh!
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/0.....ional-sta/
How many recalls for Toyota is this for the year ?
Tomas79 says: What has Holden, Ford or even BMW got that is desirable to US??”
I don’t think that Ford Holden or BMW could offer anything that YOU [yourself] would regard as “Desirable” Tomas; because going by your previous comments if it doesn’t wear a Toyota/Lexus badge it simply doesn’t rate
However; there are hundreds of thousands of other people who would love to have a new Ford/FPV Holden/HSV or BMW/M? in their driveway
Now answer this – what new technological innovation has Toyota or Lexus introduced recently?
However
Oh dear. Toyota have a recall because of a faulty exhaust clamp and you want to try and say this proves Toyota’s are not reliable? I would have more of an issue with the recent recall on Territory’s with faulty brake lines. Most recalls nowadays are pretty trivial because the car makers are paranoid about getting sued.
Car Enthusiast, do you consider a Calais or Fairmont a luxury car? The Grande versions of Toyota’s are the ‘luxury’ versions of those particular models. Whether or not you see them as being luxurious is your decision.
And as for innovations for Toyota, they have the Prius which is still one of the few Hybrids available, so I would consider that to be an innovation.
Hey, SteveH, stop putting apostrophes on plurals.
SteveH,it proves that Toyota indeed have dropped the ball ,stupid little clamp problems like this and the problem the 200 series Landcrusier recently recalled for a similar dumb mistake by Toyota prove they are indeed losing the grip on providing quality cars. I think they call it “COST CUTTING”
Lets not forget the 1.5 million Yaris’s that were recalled for faulty seat belts too this year or the fuel line problems in the Lexus ???
Oh and correct me if Im wrong but didnt Toyota steal that Hybrid idea from someone else ? Toyota innovative ? Nice one !
Golfschein, of all the grammar on this site, you choose to pick up on where I put apostrophes?
Recall, wasn’t the Lexus fuel line recall due to people putiing ethanol petrol in vehicles that weren’t supposed to? I could be wrong on that one. I remember another Toyota recall due to floor mats possibly sliding under the pedals if not clicked in properly. Recalls like this show how stupid some people are if they can’t see that a floor mat is moving and re-attach it themselves. I think the issue is more to do with is how reliable are these cars. On the whole, I would say a Toyota is far less likely to leave you stranded on the side of the road than a comparable Holden / Ford.
As for innovation, Toyota put the hybrid idea into production did they not?
Steve your making excuses for them and by bringing Ford and Holden into it proves what, still doesnt take away the fact Toyota “the so called quality kings” that dont mind publishing through surveys does it ?
The argument of ethanol is a joke,no other manufacturers fuel lines that used ethanol rusted away .These fuel line were meant to allow ethanol fuel.
Toyota may have put “that” idea of Hybrid into production but it wasnt theirs to do so and were fined for doing so,I think thats called fraud !
Recall, I am making excuses by bringing into question the triviality of some of these recalls and comparing the build quality of locally made cars? Give me a break. People brought Holden and Ford into this long before I did. I can mention a few cars that I have had that have had recalls. Does this mean that they were bad cars? I don’t think so as at least the carmakers were being proactive with any possible problems. (For your info the cars were a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Mazda 6 which had two recalls)
SteveH the point Im making is that Toyota not the other manufactures hang their hat on marketing quality reliable cars for the gullible that read these surveys not other manufacturers. Now the balloon is deflating and the recalls are coming faster due to cost cutting.
Recall, the point I am trying to make is that saying a brand is no longer reliable based solely on recalls is not right. As I said before, some recalls are so trivial, they are not really worth bothering with. I would still say a Toyota is far less likely to leave you stranded than a lot of other makes
No offence intended, SteveH. You’re right. Yours was an easy one to fix. Some people’s grammar can’t be fixed.
SteveH thanks for your opinion .
Trivial recalls or not they are getting more prevalent from Toyota ,even you cant deny that.
Toyota I think has more chance of leaving you stranded than in previous years and getting worse,my opinion though :)
Lets just agree to disagree .
I’ve had 3 Toyota company cars in my lifetime. Two lived up to the “reputation”. Another, a Camry sedan, failed it miserably. The only thing that made it look good was a VS Commodore, of which the less said, the better.
Buy what you like and want and be happy.
Wheelnut, good to see you are still with us, with the recent series of news coming out GM / GM Holden, you seem to be hiding!!
“I don’t think that Ford Holden or BMW could offer anything that YOU [yourself] would regard as “Desirable” Tomas; because going by your previous comments if it doesn’t wear a Toyota/Lexus badge it simply doesn’t rate”
Can you please quote those comments? As we both know it is you that has both unhealthy love/hate relationship with different autmobile brands…. And if above statement is correct, how come I’ve only owned 1 toyota so far??
“However; there are hundreds of thousands of other people who would love to have a new Ford/FPV Holden/HSV or BMW/M? in their driveway”
Can you please name the models that an offroad enthusiast would find desirable from the FPV,HSV, BMWM range??
As that was my original question, or have you failed to comprehend the question again (as you so often do)!!
Recall, you can put a what ever bs spin on it, but toyotas comparable performance out here in the bush speaks for it’s own!! And so do the surveys!!
The surveys must be onto something, given I’ve never had a single problem with my toyota since new, yet my old man’s mazda had to go back to dealer with issues 3 times, and my brothers subaru 4 times….
Car Enthusiast “Put it like this Would u not consider a Toyota Aurion Presara to be a luxury CAR (not Manufacturer but CAR)
or maybe a Toyota Torago Ultima as a luxury people carrier
or what about a Toyota Camry Grande, that would also be considered as a luxury car, compared to a Camry Sportivo.”
Not many people would consider anything in the FPV and HSV range luxuries either… Let alone a statesmen or a caprice!!
But lexus is luxurious!!
“car enthusist” sorry i meant “car bogan” i had you all wrong a daewoo would be to good for you being a ford bogan man from boganville! now this is all about the best car company in the world and how well they ranked not how bad ford is, so go trash someone else’s site!
and “another recall” how come your not talking about the ford territory brake recall that’s the worst one i have ever seen (besides the holden HQ steering lock) makes toyota’s little bracket tame in comparison!
I cant believe all the bad attitudes towards the big “aussies”. Im sure this was a toyota article, so get back to topic guys. They are bland cars in my opinion with massive service costs and dont lose your keys becuse replacements are costly. The Group i work for has a very strong toyota franchise and the heads walking through the door say everything for the product. Lets face it, enthusiasts are outnumbered 100 fold by the practical commuters oh, and most purchasers are of asian origin, just a factual observation from inside the dealership i spend 45 hours a week in. So with a billion chinese alone, is it suprising they do so well?
Quote \”Wheelnut, good to see you are still with us, with the recent series of news coming out GM / GM Holden, you seem to be hiding!!
hahaha see we thought the same about you, there has been soooooooooo many unhappy 200 series Landcruiser owners on this site blogging about faults in their 80k vehicles we thought you would be there to give them a hand in helping them resolve their issues…….. one last night said hes since ditched the car and will not be going back to a Cruiser again!
Oh hope you have plenty of security over there in Africa,I have heard it can be a dangerous place for overseas mining contractors, hate to see anything bad happen to you ;)
Quote \”Recall, you can put a what ever bs spin on it, but toyotas comparable performance out here in the bush speaks for it’s own!! And so do the surveys!!\”\”
Surveys say women are better drivers too Tomas………believe that! I doubt it!
Recall is right on in regard to Toyota going backwards in quality……..did you hear about the recall for the 200 series on the factory fitted bull bar ,let alone all the help Toyota are offering the poor blokes that have chassis crack
Oh and Figjam………Ford and Holden dont brag about their quality or try standing behind their surveys ,Toyota rely on them to sell cars. Who cares what the recall is for, fact is Toyota are getting more and more ,1.5 million Yaris’s recalled for seat belts, that not a big issue either I guess ? Oh and name calling just shows a low intellect!
Tomas that depends what your definition of “off road” is.. because most people who buy a 4×4 these days they would consider parking their car in the garage or even on the footpath as going “off road” and would shudder at the thought of getting the metallic pearlescent paint or the leather interior dirty
I mean even you would have to admit that the number of 4×4 owners who actually venture more than 100Kms away from the nearest coffee shop would be less than 5%
However I admit Holden and Ford don’t offer what you would call a serious off road vehicle
What’s the point given that Toyota has established itself as the iconic off road vehicle [despite the fact that the Pajero has won more Paris to Dakkar rallies]
But look at Toyota they don’t really offer a locally built car that you could call a performance car which could rival the Ford or Holden particularly in terms of [bang for your buck..]
Theres no doubt that Toyota have the money and resources but have decided not to enter that field because the Holden and Ford are the established market leaders in that area so you see it works both ways
nice to see bogans are here to pay respect for THE WORLD’S MOST TRUSTED,RICHEST , RESPECTED AND NUMBER ONE AUTO MAKER TOYOTA.
ITS ALSO NICE TO SEE THAT WE ARE HERE TO DISS THE WORLDS MOST BORING, AND LEAST EXCITING AUTO MAKER.
well “car bogan” how is it that toyota is the world’s most popular car maker as well as the most reliable, most envyed, most proftable, dominate any customer satisfaction survey, as well as that in australia they have 23% market share, dominate in commercial vehicles, number 1 in passenger vehicles, have by far the best resale value are the number 1 choice second hand in car yards, have the cheapest servicing with toyota advantage and have the most fuel efficent range, but i quess all those millions of people know nothing and you are the expert. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And by the way “car bogan” what market share does holden and ford have? holden is close to being taken over by another japanese maker mazda! a few more years and you will see toyota still number 1, mazda no2, mitsuishi no3!
Actually Figjam, its Ford that are close to bieng overtaken by Mazda. And Mitsubishi will be overtaken by Hyundai (definitely) and Nissan (probably) by years end.
As for Toyota, they need to get that sports car they’re co-developing with Subaru to market. They need to get some soul and then they might regain some respect.
Figjam is sick of Bogan………..and has been reported again for inciting an argument and name calling!
I agree Falcodore; Toyta should pull their finger out and release the new sports coupe that Subaru are building for them. – the only influence Toyota has had in the project is the [hideous] design.
However; Toyota have said that if it is released it will only be sold on the Japanese Market – that is it won’t be exported unlike Subaru who have said it will be exported and will be AWD as well as RWD.
They should also release the Next generation Supra which has been around in the form of a concept car for at least the last 10 years… Yet I doubt the Supra will be released within the next 10 years as the GT-R is just such a far superior sports car
Mind you they could call it the “Game Changing” Supra to make people think that its full of innovation and its better than it actually is etc

As I have already said on another article “I suggest you go back to the article … and look up the 2 very first comments made by “Tomas79”… and then tell me who the real Toyota Lover is?! I dare you to show me a similar comment made by you about BMWs, or Wheelnut about holdens?”
Bavarian Missile (.)(.) Says: “Oh hope you have plenty of security over there in Africa,I have heard it can be a dangerous place for overseas mining contractors, hate to see anything bad happen to you ;)”
Offcourse we have the Kurkhas running the security here, and as well the government’s gendarmerie camped up near by. Anyway, Senegal, the country I’m in at the moment, is a relatively safe country. Even though one of our busses full of contractors has recently been hijacked and robbed by separatist rebels!!
Bavarian Missile (.)(.) Says: “did you hear about the recall for the 200 series on the factory fitted bull bar ”
Who cares, mostly just posers get the factory bullbars!!
Wheelnut Says: “What’s the point given that Toyota has established itself as the iconic off road vehicle [despite the fact that the Pajero has won more Paris to Dakkar rallies]”
The Point to having a 4wd, is not to win a races!!!
Also the Pajero had incomparably greater support!! Mitsibushi needed a dakar win, just to sell it’s 4wds!!!
By the way I have personally been at the Dakar finish this year here in Dakar, Senegal (but before you go on about Dakar Rally being moved to South America this year note, there was a rebel race here with a lot of the purists!!). Anyway I have seen a lot of the buggies, including the bowler wildcat first hand, and my favourite the offroad racing trucks like Tatras and Unimogs. Anyway the 4wds in the buggies/offraders were built for travelling on sands tracks, at high speed, hardly how my ideal offroader would be configured!!! Interesting that a majority of the support teams compromised of prados!!
Anyway, thats all i have time for…
hahaha gee Tomas you should stop being soooooooo serious,if you were on here enough you would see I do make negative comments about BMW ,including how greedy they are mate.
I dont care if knobs do have factory bull bars, fact is Toyota have yet another build quality problem.
Look after yourself over there Thomas, bet you cant wait to get home though,my brother has just come back from Mongolia where he is a mine manager and is over seeing the start up of one the worlds largest gold mines. Hes always glad to come home,2 year contract for him what about you.
LOL…
Wait did someone just knock the 1.3 million recalls for the yaris, for a seatbelt that catches fire faster than it should?
Oh well i’ve been sitting on this for a while because I didn’t want to stir sh*t. But here goes:
http://www.reuters.com/article.....1P20090414
“DETROIT (Reuters) – General Motors Corp is recalling nearly 1.5 million Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac mid-sized cars due to a potential leak of engine oil that could cause an engine fire.
The recall applies to the 1997-2003 Buick Regal; 1998-2003 Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo and Impala; 1998-99 Oldsmobile Intrigue; and 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, GM said in a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
A total of 1,497,516 vehicles, all equipped with a 3.8 liter engine, are involved in the recall.”
This was 2 weeks ago…
3.8L engine, hey that sounds familiar doesn’t it?
“bavarian missile” has been reported for making threats on someones security and life! hey bm, people in glass house’s should not throw stones!
Figjam/Sick of Bogans………..you need to go back to English class cause you clearly have no understanding of what I was talking to Tomas about .
why do all the toyota hatters have to destroy a very good article on the world’s best car maker haven’t you all got something better to do! WELL DONE TOYOTA!
Figjam – If you hav the ability to understand and comrehend the english language you will see that BM wasn’t making any such treats towards Tomas79.
She was hoping the Tomas79 is safe telling him to be careful whilst he is in Seth Efrica.. Because in case you didn’t know SA is one of the worlds biggest trouble spots particularly in regards to car jackings… I mean there are a number of cars over their which have flame throwers fitted under the doors to warn off any potential crims.
Not only that but her brother who is a mine manager and is also in South Africa at the moment has a specially trrained driver/bodyguard.
mmmmmmmmm RoFlmaTiC,I saw that too but once again I have to say its Toyota that stand behind their quality and relibility to sell cars not GM FORD ect.
The point we’re trying to make is that Toyotas reputation for quality is getting worse ,I havent put up all their recent recalls cause I didnt want to stir the pot TOO much :)
Saw another on the Tundra during the week on excessive rust………..
Im not a Toyota hater but wont have Toyota reliability and quality rammed down my throat by Toyota extremists when their {Toyota} quality is falling .
Apart from that ,I hope your well, have you finished your studies yet?
Figjam says; why do all the toyota hatters have to destroy a very good article on the world’s best car maker
Well us “Toyota haters” could ask the same question about the handful of Toyota lovers on this site as to why you always have to hijack and destroy the articles topics discussions which relate to cars other than Toyotas? [they do exist you know?]
You do it so often [and when I say You I am referring to the handful of Toyota fans not just you Figjam] which gives the impression that the reason you do it is because you don’t know anything else about any other car manufacturer [or their cars] yet you are so insecure that you feel the need to be involved in the discussion regardless
You often criticise a car even though you have never driven one; infact you often state that you never would drive one. Which makes your comments even more ridiculous and is why you end up getting your a-r-s-e kicked by the majority of bloggers on this site
Not only that but you are reluctant or unable to admit when you are wrong
BTW: we don’t actually hate Toyotas [perse] we just don’t like the extremist toyota fans who go on repeatedly about Toyotas supposed superiority and refuse to accept the fact that not every Toyota is perfect.. or that they actually have recalls just like every other manufacturer
The thing is wheelnut i dont even own a toyota, but i do give credit where credit is due and nobody will ever take away the fact that toyota is and always will be the preferred choice in new cars!
Figjam says: The thing is wheelnut i dont even own a toyota, but i do give credit where credit is due and nobody will ever take away the fact that toyota is and always will be the preferred choice in new cars!
Not with everyone Figjam… and that is what you don’t seem to understand [again not just You but the other 5 or so Lex-ota fans on here]
Your comments often imply that anyone who doesn’t own or drive a Toyota must be an uneducated moron from a lower socio economic background who is attracted to their brother or sister
The fact still remains that whilst Toyota do make / have made some relatively good cars they also suffer reliability problems and do have / have had quality issues which is why they have recalls just like every other manufacturer.. something which you [Toyota fans] are unable to accept or recognise
Sick of Bogans /Figjam,why dont you take your own advice!
You dont give any credit to another manufacturer other than Japanese.
You do know the number one choice for your first car in THIS Country is a Holden,Ford second and Toyota third.
quote “nobody will ever take away the fact that toyota is and always will be the preferred choice in new cars! ”
What a load of RUBBISH ! Based on WHAT ? Your opinion dude!
Tomas 79 says: The Point to having a 4wd, is not to win a races!!!
Also the Pajero had incomparably greater support!! Mitsibushi needed a dakar win, just to sell it’s 4wds!”
I agree the point of owning a 4wd isn’t to win races – the point of owning a 4wd is because you want to go off road is it not?
During the Paris to Dakar the competiors have to contend with some of the harshest conditions imaginable such as water crossings sand dunes rocky terrain etc do they not?
Therefore; the Paris to Dakar would have to be one of the best ways to develop a 4wd and prove what it can do. would it not?
BTW: the Mitsubishi Pajero has won more than just one Paris to Dakar Rally.. infact its closer to 7-10 and the support that they have had is nothing compared to what the Toyota F1 team have
And I believe the Pajero was recently announced as Australian 4wd magazines 4×4 of the year was it not?
another recall you are so WRONG! the first choice for anyone’s first car is a corolla or echo or camry! why would anyone want to buy a heap of s**t oversteering unreliable no resale value holden commodore or ford falcon?
Wheelnut toyota has turned the f1 deal around so far this season they have had 3 podiums and grid at least once, mind you about bloody time, but once again give credit when its due! where’s ferrari or bmw this season?
Figjam says ” Wheelnut toyota has turned the f1 deal around so far this season they have had 3 podiums”
I know that but its taken then what – 5 seasons and over $300m to do it and still no championship title..
Thats a sh!tload more than what Mitsubishi spent in their Paris To Dakar Rallies which they have won more than 5 times… and its a lot harder going over undulating territory with various road surfaces weather conditions etc than it isgoing round and round a specially built track in a computer controlled missile – That’s not taking anything awy from F1 mind you

Geez mate Im sick of hearing your opinions, you know NOTHING about Holdens and Fords let alone the Muscle cars of yesterday and their worth in OUR great Country.
Here is a little bit of info you may want to read.
“Holden trumps Ford in First Car Race
12 April 2009
HOLDEN has trumped Ford in the on-going battle of the Marques with almost a quarter of Australian men owning a Holden as their first car, according to research commissioned by Bankwest.
Bankwest research also revealed that 17 per cent of women grabbed a set of keys to a Toyota as their first set of wheels.
And when it comes to getting advice about a potential purchase, women are far more likely than men to seek advice from an “expert”.
The iconic Aussie Holden was tailgated by arch-rival Ford in second place, with 15.5 per cent of men calling a Ford their first car, with Toyota holding down number three with 10.3 per cent. Next across the chequered flag were Mazda (4.4), Nissan and Volkswagen (4.1), Mitsubishi (3.7), Mini (3.0), Honda (2.3) and Hyundai (1.4).
In more bad news for Ford, the Bankwest research revealed Australian’s first car love affair with Holden isn’t restricted to Aussie blokes: 16.1 per cent of women bought one as their first car followed by Ford (13.7), Mazda (6.7), Mitsubishi (5.5), Nissan (5.2), Honda (4.3), Hyundai (3.7), VW (3.5) and Mini (1.5).
Bankwest spokesperson Adrian Bradley said men preferred a car with a bit of grunt like a classic V8 Commodore, while women went for a more fuel efficient four-cylinder Toyota.
“It’s probably no surprise a lot of blokes want a car you can hear before they actually arrive,” he said.
The national research was carried out with 1250 Australians by market research firm Brand Management, with 60 per cent saying they saved up to pay cash for their first car – men were more likely (63 per cent) to do so than women (52.4)
A quarter of Australians got a loan to pay for the car while 21 per cent said their parents paid for some or all of their first car, and for a lucky 3.7 per cent – their first car was a gift.
The amount splurged on the first car differed with age groups, with 21 to 30 year olds spending on average $9973 while those aged 51 to 60 spent $5214. The price difference is due to the fact that most 51 to 60-year-olds bought their first car up to 30 years ago.
But when it came to their current car, almost one in four Australians bought a new car while one in six chose a used car. This varies depending up on age, with younger Australians aged 21-30 buying used and almost half of those aged 51-60 buying their current car new.
More than half paid cash for their current car, and the propensity to pay cash increased with age. Of those who didn’t pay cash for their current car, 64.5 per cent took out a personal loan for it, with women (75.1 per cent) more likely than men (43.3).
The most important element of a car loan is the low interest rate, with 73.9 per cent of respondents ranking this first. The second most important element was a repayment amount that suits them (26.2 per cent), and a low application fee (25.9 per cent).
Other interesting facts:
* 53.0 per cent know how much interest they are paying in total for their loan. Men were much more likely than women to know how much interest they would be paying in total (65.7 per cent vs 40.8 per cent).
* 40.2 per cent of respondents paid out their personal loan early.
* Of those who did not have a personal loan, 54.4 per cent lease their current car. Men are much more likely than women to lease their car, at 60.6 per cent of men vs 39.7 per cent of women.
* 5.4 per cent of respondents normally keep their car for less than two years, 27.0 per cent keep their car for two to four years, and 34.1 per cent keep their car for four to six years. One third of all respondents keep their car for longer than six years.
* When shopping around for the right car finance, more than half of all respondents would compare different lenders (60.6 per cent), use online calculators to check how much they could borrow (58.2 per cent) or speak to their main bank to find out about their products (57.8 per cent).
* One third of respondents would speak to family/friends who know about the topic (37.9 per cent), submit applications or quote requests online (36.2 per cent), read articles or information published online about car loans (33.0 per cent) when shopping around for a car loan.
* Women are much more likely than men to speak to friends or family who know about the topic (43.8 per cent of women vs 33.4 per cent of men).
* One quarter (25.4 per cent) of respondents would speak to a car dealer to get information about a car loan.”"
Once again Sick of Bogan/Figjam you have showed your ignorance to other manufactures .
guys its past my bed time in the old people’s home so i have to go but i will be up at 4.30 tomorrow to continue this good night! sleep tight! and wheelnut i dont follow f1 but its good to see toyota finaly doing something after all those millions!
Toyota was Australia’s best-selling brand in March with 16,608 vehicles (22.0 per cent market share) followed by Holden with 9,188 (12.1 per cent of the market) and Ford with 7,570 vehicle sales (10.0 per cent market share).
Year-to-date, Toyota leads the market with 44,309 vehicles sold, followed by Holden with 26,979 and Ford with 20,986 vehicles.
Toyota was Australia’s best-selling brand in 2008 with 238,983 vehicles (23.6 per cent market share) followed by Holden with 130,338 (12.9 per cent of the market) and Ford with 104,715 vehicle sales (10.3 per cent market share).
