Ford should export the falcon complete range to europe and the uk and the usa and samoa its about
time country’s like italy needs bigger cars for taxis with lpg or cng or diesel models and here in australia they should bring out a common rail diesel 6 cylinder or 4 cylinder motors in them like taxis would like them due to hi kms it would be a better motor for taxi use and i would like to see the first turbo diesel ford falcon in a ute sadan and wagon and the terretry suv and i think the turbo diesel in the ute would be popular with tradesmen and have a 4wd falcon wagon and ute with a low range gearbox with a transfer case and all models should be e 85 compatable

I’ve seen the pics and the new Falcon looks ok but theres no ‘wow’ factor to it. It looks like any other car today but at least its not a ‘bad’ looking car so it will still sell but I don’t think its got enough to take it to Commodore. The VE Commodore was so fresh in its design when it came out and it still has solid looks a year in wheras the new Falcon just looks weaker and Holden are not asleep, they’ve got some good stuff ahead.
I hope Falcon lasts as we need it, its not a 380 which was nowhere really and it should hold its mantel, I would hate to see it disappear.

You reckon Ford copies Holden but why don’t you wake up to reality and see how Holden copies Ford before you accuse Ford for anything.

Holden copied the ute Ford had 14 years before Holden was part of GM.

Holden copied the XK Falcon design for the EJ Holden

Look at the fin on the boot of an XY Falcon GT, then look at the fin sitting on the boot of an VE Commodore.

Look at the bonnet scoops on an XB Falcon then look at the last Monaro’s bonnet.

Ford had a sticker on their cars with Ford’s slogan in the 80s, “Ford Australia – We’re Moving With You”. Then look at the sticker Holden had on their cars after that.

So you reckon Ford copied a 1 year old Holden design, what kind of Holden was that? It’s obviously not the VE Commodore because it’s over 1 year old now. You never stated what Holden Ford copied off did you…

Nice to see Ford copying most of Holden’s design of the body… again.
(Have a close look at the 1 year old holden and the yet to be released ford, notice anything similar?)

It’s probably true that the Falcon will not hit the American market without some modifications; for instance, the latest engineering news here is the Twin-Force twin turbo technology that is being applied nearly across the board, and the brand new “Boss” V-8 that might fit well in the Falcon. An interestng product for Austalian buyers could be the Edge SUV or Sport Trac with all wheel drive and a Twin-Force V-6 of about 415hp!!!

If it does go to USA, it would have a chrome grill because American Ford are going that way, not that the base model will look like that here.

But the chrome grill would look good on the Fairmont though.

I hope Orion does export well. Holden have done well in this regard.

I’ve looked at yank forums regarding G8 and Falcon. A lot of yanks love the G8. A LOT of yanks see our current BF in XR & FPV guise and they love it, and wish they had it there.

If it does go, of course the yanks will yankify it, but that’s fine by me (as long as it doesn’t end up looking awful).

I can’t see how Ford is following in Holden’s footsteps… The Falcon was a 3 way car in the 1960’s. It was in the US, the UK and here.
It was a big seller in all 3 of these countries. And still is here.
So from what I’d be gathering, the Falcon should do a lot better overseas then what the GM variants have and are.

at this stage it is hard to say what this means for ford US. there has been speculation of late that the falcon will indeed be exported and all bullshit aside, we all know it will be. howvere what is relativly unknown is whether or not it will remain fairly australian spec when in the states. i have a feeling a straight import wont do the job for the yanks. theyll have to change it somewhat. what is interesting is the head of FPV talking to the performance arm of Ford europe. supposedly there was meant to be a small shipment of F6’s and GT’s making their way to europe. (possible nurburgring falcon link) there is alot of worldwide interest in the new RWD platform and australia has always been a leader in RWD technology, making worldbeaters for the past 30-40 years. it will be interesting to see what happens as far as exports go however i wouldnt go assuming the yanks are gonna jump at the new falcon as is.

As far as I was aware, the new Falcon is most likely to replace the long overdue Crown Victoria in the US. It may even use the Falcon badge as well.
