Qoros 9 Sedan Concept presents a flagship vision for 2020

The Qoros 9 Sedan Concept is one automobile design student's vision of what Qoros might have on sale by 2020.

Designed by Jihoon Seo, the Qoros 9 Sedan Concept was completed during his five month internship with the Qoros design team in Shanghai. His brief was create a flagship sedan, aimed at 40 to 50 year old professionals, for the young brand's hypothetical 2020 range.

The Qoros 9 only exists digitally and as a 1:4.5 clay model, which was displayed at the Coventry School of Art and Design’s Degree Show earlier this month.

With its small glasshouse and 19-inch alloy wheels give the 9 Sedan Concept a certain gangster feel. Its proportions suggest a rear-wheel drive drivetrain of some description, but headroom in the rear may be a little bit squeezy thanks to the 9's tightly drawn rear roof line.

The car's LED headlights spill seamlessly into the grille, while wing mirrors have been ditched in favour of high definition cameras that are hidden by the LED indicators near the base of the A-pillars.

Qoros is a 50/50 joint venture between Chinese automaker Chery and government-founded Israel Corporation. The company's lineup currently consists solely of the Golf-class 3 sedan, hatch and wagon.

The 3 is currently on sale in China, but the company has plans to market its wares in Europe where the 3 has gained a five star EuroNCAP rating. Earlier this year the company stated it had no plans to build cars in right-hand drive in the foreseeable future.
