FPV Pursuit :: final edition ute arrives at $52,990

Ford Performance Vehicles didn’t have a new Pursuit on hand at yesterday’s unveiling and is yet to photograph the car in detail, though images produced for its brochure reveal the unique styling and highlight the new features of the high-performance ute.

The final edition FPV Pursuit, of which only 120 will be built, features a number of enhancements over the identically priced GS ute on which it’s based.

It shares the GT F’s gloss-black ‘racoon eye’ treatment around the headlamps, and features a matching finish on the door handles, mirror caps and rear diffuser. It also sports the same ‘stealth’ stripe package that extends across the bonnet and roof.

A GT front bar, 19-inch GT alloy wheels, F6 side skirts and ‘Pursuit’ badging across the tailgate complete the exterior upgrades over the GS. It will be available in five colours (Kinetic blue, Octane orange, Silhouette black, Winter white, and Smoke silver), with black, white, silver and gold stripes.

Inside, the limited edition ute gains white ‘Pursuit’ embroidery and orange stitching on its leather insert seats, individual build number badge, Pursuit gearknob badge (manual only), orange-striped instrument cluster, and unique start-up and gauge displays on the eight-inch central touchscreen including boost pressure, engine temperature, G-forces, oil temperature (auto only), and voltage (manual only).

Climate control, satellite navigation and a premium audio system are also included in the Pursuit over the GS ute’s standard specification.

Unlike the uprated GT F, the Pursuit carries over the mechanicals of the GS ute, meaning peak outputs of its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 are unchanged at 315kW at 5750rpm and 545Nm between 2000-5500rpm.

Combined cycle fuel consumption is rated at 14.0 litres per 100km for the six-speed manual model and 14.2L/100km for the six-speed automatic.

Ford Australia says there has been a lot of interest in the Pursuit, with many of the final 120 already sold.
