I've '03 Futura. I can vouch for low speed steering shudder, warped front discs which were machined an year ago & since fine (don't keep foot on brake after hard stop - move a little & don't wash if disc is hot), now advised by mechanic to get longer, wire-clad hoses free of charge from Ford. Rang them & girl advised to take to local dealer. Will contact dealer tomorrow to see what happens?

My Brakes failed last week and it was related to road works where there was a large drop in the road from bitument to dirt. Passenger rear hose started leaking, local mechnaic fixed and said Ford had supplied new hoses all round as part of "recall that wasn't a recall"
By the way my BA suffered the brake shudders but has been fixed by my local mechanic obtaining new front hubs from Ford at a rediculously low price because apparently there is a "known problem with the bearings not being centred in the hub properly".

I've had the brake hoses rupture twice. One in the front and one in the back. In both cases the brake hoses ruptured due to brake hoses being too short when the car was put into full right hand lock or when the car back wheel goes into a hole.Brake failure was instant and cost me around $400.00 each time as the car had to be towed each time to a repair centre. So much for the car being "car of the year". What a joke.

I have a 2004 BA Falcon and have experienced complete and sudden brake failure twice. In both cases the brake failure was due to short brake hoses.
The first time it happened the car back left wheel went into a pot hole and the brake hose was not long enough when the wheel went into the pot hole. The hose stretched to it's limit and then snapped. Brake failure was instant.
The second time it happened the car was driven into a service station with a steep driveway and a tight right turn to line up parallel to the petrol pump. The car was put into full right steering lock and again the brake hose was not long enough to allow for the full right lock and again the brake hose simply snapped and again caused instant brake failure. Cost of repairs in both these instances was over $800.00.
I do not understand how Ford can make such a bad design mistake and very little was said or done about this problem.

I brought a 2004 BA falcon and late last year I was driving with my 9mth old daughter in the car and all of a sudden I had no brakes. There was no warning they just went. I managed to get it to my machanic that day and he ordered in a new rear break line for me which cost me $100. I wish I had known there was a known issue with the back break lines being to short I would have gone straight to ford!! Wondering if I can get my $100 back from ford? I have the invoice still and need the other one replaced still!!

Hi

I totaly agree with 'jimmyhatesfords'. I've had a BA XR6 since December last year and it has been nothing but trouble! I currently have Transmision problems(takes a while to engage to reverse and then gives a massive thump, and while changing gears when i'm slowing down and while accelerating it thumps as well. I had it servised twice and had no improvement), diff problems (was also servised but had no improvement), handbrake problems (my mech has changed the hand brake shoes and rotors), braking problems (abs light comes in and my pedal just drops to the floor without any warnings), goes through new set of tyres every 6 months (had brand new tyres when i bought it and now have to get a new set because the whole side of all 4 tyres have no tread). The car only has 165ks and it was servised by westpoint ford here in melbourne its whole life untill i took ownership of it. All I can say is that i will never buy another ford again!

I brought a 2005 territory. The traction control light comes on and ABS in the front comes on when i turn corners. This is the first quite new ford i have ever brought. It is also be the last ford that i will by. I should have gone with the 1964 model would have been more reliable.
