Mercedes-Benz MLC interior revealed

CarAdvice’s spy photographers have captured the first interior images of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class.

The new luxury crossover coupe’s dashboard borrows heavily from the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class on which it’s based, and, as well as revealing the MLC’s cabin, the images also provide an accurate impression of what to expect from the facelifted ML that’s due later this year.

The focal point is the large, tablet-style display at the top of the centre stack. It houses the latest-generation of Mercedes’ Comand infotainment system, which is linked to the touch-sensitive controller at the base of the central armrest.

The screen is flanked by reshaped vent towers, which are perched above a redesigned cluster of audio, vehicle setting and climate control buttons and dials.

A new thick-rimmed, three-spoke steering wheel sits in front of an instrument cluster with two analogue binnacles and a central digital display.

Black and cream-coloured leathers with contrast stitching, piano black plastics and satin chrome trim finishers create a premium look fitting of a luxury crossover with the BMW X6 in its sights.

The latest Mercedes-Benz MLC spy shots come less than two weeks after our photographers snapped the high-performance MLC63 AMG variant and a little over a month after spying a regular MLC model testing for the first time on public roads.

The production version of the MLC will be heavily inspired by the Crossover Coupe SUV concept that was unveiled earlier this year.

It will be released overseas next year before going on sale in 2016, when it will go head-to-head with the X6 and with a starting price expected to rival the BMW’s current $111,045 starting point.
