I always get nervous of manufacturers recalling cars, and doesn’t always leave a good taste, but good for them and others that do do this so that their clients don’t get injured due to these or other problems.

We bought our Lancer VR in June 2008 and have had no trouble with it. Very economical and heaps of room for it’s size. Only critisism if any is a bit of road noise but this could be down to type of tyres. Otherwise a great car. Cheers.

I came sooo close to signing on a new lancer for the other half about a month ago.
my biggest problem was quality concern, especially over time. yes its a lot of kit for a great price, but its still lacking in quality and the base model with the auto is a slug.

The VRX on the other hand that you drove is a much better quality car (well it feels like it)
It has a bigger motor and an interior made from much better quality materials

Good to see Mitsu going forward with a recall but at the end of the day this sorta crap should not be happening in the first place.

We hired a new 2.4ltr Lancer VR-X over a couple of months and the brakes were very responsive and not noisey.
As for the over all quality of the Lancer, we were very impressed as to how Mitsubishi can offer such a great package with so many high tech features you simply cant get in competitors vehicles unless you go for a European brand and pay through the nose for and we experienced absolutely no quality problems.
A surprisingly great car overall with sharp handling and a responsive and torquey engine too!.
Good to see some manufacturers have morals and integrity and can act promptly on a voluntary recall such as Mitsubishi.

The whole car isn’t that great – it’s a cheap car and it succeeds in its aims – it has a lot of fruit for the money, so none of it can be top quality.

I have one of these lancers, and the brakes arent that great at all. they squeak for a good while until the brakes “warm-up” in the drive.

Good to see Mitsubishi acknowledging the problem and sending out a recall, unlike Ford which was reluctant to make the recall for the brake problem.

Off topic, but that Outlander up there is the limited edition right? What a ugly body kit, that is only suitable for fast and furious.

Oh snap! Although this isn’t a very serious problem (it is, but a small chance of anything happening) kudos to Mitsubishi to make a recall.

Another proof that ANY manufacturer can have a recall.
