Bentley SUV teased in new video

A new video teasing the upcoming Bentley SUV has revealed hitherto unseen aspects of the production car's styling.

Entitled "See Through New Eyes", the video reveals for the first time the SUV's available five-spoke alloy wheels and cross-drilled brakes, as well as the B-shaped vent in the front fender that's a part of the character line running down the car's side.

Also shown are elements of the crossover's rear-end design, including tailgate, taillights, D-pillar, rear door handle and rear door shutline. The production SUV seems to feature the flared rear haunches employed on the controversial EXP 9F concept car, although the rear quarter window has been modified to include a Hofmeister-style kink.

The video, rendered in black and white, ends with a shot of the car's front end, which confirms the look revealed in an earlier teaser image.

Riding on underpinnings shared with the next generation Audi Q7, the Bentley SUV will go into production in 2016 and will be powered initially by a 12-cylinder engine with between 430kW and 485kW of power.

From 2017 the high-riding Bentley will be offered with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that was premiered earlier this year at the Beijing motor show. Featuring Bentley's 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 at its heart, the plug-in hybrid version is said to offer up to 50km of electric-only driving.
