The Audi S4 and Audi S5 performance models are now as much as $17,000 more affordable following a 2014 pricing restructure.
Now starting at $105,000 for the sedan and $108,500 for the Avant – down from $119,900 and $123,400 respectively – the Audi S4 has been reduced by just shy of $15,000.
Down $16,400 from their previously shared $135,400 figure, the Audi S5 Coupe and S5 Sportback five-door hatch are now priced identically at $119,000.
Boasting the largest cut is the Audi S5 Cabriolet which is now priced at $129,000 – down $17,000 from its existing $146,000 list price.
All S4 and S5 variants power all four wheels via the same 245kW/440Nm supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The combination is enough to shift the S4 sedan and S5 Coupe from 0-100km/h in a claimed 5.0 and 4.9 seconds respectively – the S4 Avant and S5 Sportback take 5.1sec, and the S5 Cabriolet has a claimed sprint time of 5.4sec. Combined cycle fuel consumption also ranges from 8.1-8.5 litres per 100km.
Standard equipment across all models includes ‘S’-specific sports suspension, sports front seats, an ‘S’-design multi-function, flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters and Audi’s MMI Navigation plus system with a seven-inch colour display. A sport differential is also optional.
Audi Australia claims the “price re-alignment” is due to the “outstanding success to-date” of the 230kW/650Nm Audi SQ5 TDI, with the $90,600 SUV prompting renewed levels of customer interest in the brand’s performance models.
“The recent success of the SQ5 TDI has led us to re-align pricing of our TFSI petrol-powered passenger car models to bring them closer to the outstanding offer of the SQ5 TDI,” Audi Australia managing director Andrew Doyle said.
