Car News / Bridgestone to invest $150 million in new Shanghai plant
Bridgestone, Japan’s largest tyre maker, said today it planned to expand its capacity by investing A$150 million in a new Chinese plant, this time in Wuxi near Shanghai.

The plant is scheduled to be built from mid-2011 enabling an additional capacity for Bridgestone of 4200 tyres a day, bringing the company’s total global daily production to 12,000 tyres.
Bridgestone has 48 tyre plants in 22 countries globally.

well, it’s a tradeoff between (+) closeness to the market/customers and the (-) net of freight and wage i guess. but i am second on the last sentence.
