Porsche 911 GT3 fire recall resolution coming “shortly”, brand says
The Porsche 911 GT3 fire recall is inching closer towards a resolution, following the company's chief stating a fix will come "shortly".
Porsche chief executive officer Matthias Mueller announced at a press conference at the company's headquarters over the weekend that the cause of the fires - which saw the German sports car specialist recall 785 examples of the racy 911 models worldwide - is now known.
"We know the reason and the problem-solving measures," Mueller said. "We're testing them."
Mueller said the brand will announce the details soon, but will tell owners about the solution - and presumably start fixing the cars - first.
Porsche Australia announced a recall for five affected 2014 911 GT3 models following a directive from Porsche headquarters that all owners stop driving their cars so their engines can be inspected.
