2010 Audi RS3 spied at Nürburgring
April 8, 2009 by George Skentzos
Speculation that Audi is considering building a new RS3 variant has come to fruition, with the future pocket-rocket caught testing at the Nürburgring today.
The even more potent version of the Audi S3 is set to join the elite ranks of the performance flagship RS range, with power coming from the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine which made its debut with the new TT-RS.
This engine is expected to develop a staggering 254kW and 450Nm – figures simply unheard of in a performance hatch.
Coupled with Audi’s proven Quattro all-wheel-drive system, performance is also expected to be roughly on par with the TT-RS – helped on by the fact the two cars will share roughly the same weight.
Acceleration from zero to 100km/h is expected to be dealt with in just 4.6 seconds with a suggested top speed of almost 290km/h.

450Nm would be lovely…just how much $$$’s?
100KW+/litre is an epic, unheard of figure.
Wouldn’t mind a more aggressive from bumper ala TTRS/RS5. Hopefully they give the drive a bit more soul.
Nice – but a choppy ride is had in A3’s. Not nice
Nasty :D
Love it, simply amazing.
Cupid, this is S3, not A3.
Great news! This also paves the way for the Golf R32 replacement to receive the hi-po 2.0L T that was previously pushing the S3.
A Giddyup Golf to be sure!
If they can giv it a bit more muscle and agression then itll be a ripper. Awesome power figures 245kw and 450nm for a hot hatch. THis will be the king of Hot hatches.
Drooooooooooooooooool
Maybe one day this engine will find its way into the replacement for the R32 replacement :) but I doubt it. The 7 speed S-Tronic DSG box won’t be going into a Golf any time soon.
That box can take 550nm, so the tuners will be salivating at the prospect of chipping this engine – 300kw and 550nm should be a no-brainer.
But it will cost $100k or more so won’t trouble sales of the $50k or under hot hatch brigade.
This will definitely be the ultimate hot hatch. Where do I sign up?
Nice to see Audi have gone back to the I5 set up!
Brilliant engine set up!
If this thing comes to oz at a 80 to 90 k price then Audi could find some younger buyers wanting a sporty fast Audi, S4 and RS4 too expensive for people in their mid thirties.
Looks like to me, the next R range golf will get the 2.0T engine from the Current S3.
And with this 2.5T RS3, it will have a more substantial advantage over the next Golf R (the current S3 is really not much faster than a R32).
holy crap this thing could take on a m3.
Hehe they used an S3 mule or is it?
the rs3 won’t be coming out until the new a3 is being made which is why this they are still using the s3’s body…
I think Audi is going to makes all its models RS edition. Do u guys think so?
devill666..u dont know much about normally aspirated sports bikes do you?? 135kw+/litre!! Should be a nice car this one and being Audi not overly thirsty.
just 4.6 sec. up to 100 km/h!
