2009 Mercedes-Benz R-Class facelift spied

By George Skentzos |

As these images reveal, Mercedes-Benz is set to breathe new life into its lacklustre R-Class range with a facelifted prototype spied wearing heavy camouflage in the US recently.

It has been rumoured that the new model would share a similar appearance to the somewhat friendlier B-class people mover, although whether this will affect the current sales slump for the model remains to be seen.

The credentials for the R-Class are certainly not very inspiring, being too big, too cumbersome and too thirsty – in its current guise at least.

Although this perhaps reflects more on Mercedes’ need to fill every market niche rather than creating a truly practical people mover.

Am I REALLY weird for liking the original R-Class styling? It was a damn nice looking car I reckon, but 99% of people hated the looks of that thing.

Oh, a revelation! I know where Subaru got their headlights from for the new Liberty…old R-Class. They look nearly identical!!! NO WAY lol
