Hondas are more reliable than BMWs, I have owned and driven many hondass, subarus, audis, bmws etc, hondas out of all of them are superior in quality and required maitenance, i bet if you had a honda compared to the rest of these brands it would outlast them all, based on engine life and electrical reliability, (less servicing and maintenance costs and trouble)

I thought that would be the case Fasthonda…….how much cheaper than the X6 I guess will indicate good sales for Honda .

Im surprised, with the down turn in the world economy why car companies aren’t delaying more of there models,I wouldnt think that this and especially in the US at the moment would be that popular.

What are the US buying mostly in the car market ? Thats what Id be pushing for profits.

Interesting,but NO WAY will this vehicle make it to our shores.

Acura/Honda will not compete with the 4.4L Turbo version.As far as I understand it will only compete with the “base” version of the X6 in Nth America.
I can’t envisage Acura/Honda making a rather large and turbo charged engine.The engine will most likely be a 3.7L V6 with probably about 220KW.

Volkswagen couldn’t make a vehicle to drive better than the X6-that company is VERY reliant on AUDI for engines,design,engineering etc,etc.
It can’t design a wheel without Audi’s input!
As for Porsche,you need to spend over $200,000 to get a decent AWD Cayenne.The base Cayenne looks Sh@thouse and doesn’t drive any better than a X5 or X3.

Yeah I know that CB Ive been to the States a few times and understand the pricing differences,still what engine do honda have to compete against BMWs 4.4 twin turbo ?

In the USA it may be – pricing is a lot closer in that market between BMWs and Honda’s luxury arm, and there are a few directly competing models.

I must say, although the BMW X6 design is quite controversial and splits opinions, I don’t see how any other car made for this class could look better. The X6 looks right somehow, whether you think it’s ugly or not, it just looks right. And the only reason why one might buy an X6 is because of how it drives and I don’t see how Acura could make the drive better than the X6. The X6 really is astounding to drive. The only brands that I can think of that could make a car of this shape a better drive than the X6 are Porsche, Lotus and maybe Volkswagen (though that wouldn’t be fun so much as impressive).

Well BM…kinda like the RX330 is the competitor to the X5? And its Acura, the “luxury” brand of Honda (meaning its Honda’s Lexus). Sure, it wont have the ‘prestige’ (or lack of it) of a BMW, but it will undercut it by price a bit and will probably pack similar features. All wrapped up in an X6 body. Wallah, its a competitor to the X6!

heres Hoping Honda Australia try and get this car from Acura. They need to spice up their line up abit more.

The only new cars they have confirmed are coming to Australia in the near future are all boring Hybrids.

Honda Insight
Honda Jazz Hybrid
Honda CR-Z (this maybe actually the first fun hybird)
Honda Civic Si Hatch (5 door hatch)

They need something to fill the gap of the now dis continued MDX, this might fit the bill.

All they need to do after that is have something to fill the gap of the integrea and prelude, and they will have a decent line up.

The first image screams x6. I’m looking forward to see how they do the interior.

At least hopefully this will be an affordable option for people wanting the look of an x6 without the price tag. I would certainly buy one.
