“Kevin Rose, founder of Digg and named as one of Time Magazine’s top 25 most influential people on the web in 2008, has leaked photos of what may be Tesla’s new Model S electric car”

There have been rumours that the pictures are not authentic, but if they are even close, then Tesla probably have a winner on their hands, as far as the overall styling goes.

The stand out feature inside the car would have to be the large screen in the centre console, which has been reported as a Microsoft Windows based system, something that could be a little scary.

Reports on other car news websites suggests that it has a 300 mile range (around 480km), it’ll go on sale in 2011 AND (this is the interesting part) it has 7-seats. Apparently there are two seats in the boot that flip up and are rear-facing (so people’s heads will just be at the window line). Seems to be a very interesting car!

If an Aston Martin, Jaguar XF and Mazda6 had a 3-way, this would be how their spawn would look. Very nice

  3. HAL says:

now that is a nice looking rig. This is what the latest Mazda 6 should have looked like.

Impressive specs, so volt has some serious competition!

  5. Phil says:

Nice!! Very stylish. My god that’s a big screen in the middle though.

  6. Jimmy says:

If the pics aren’t authentic could it be a touched up XF Jag as daniel alluded to?

  7. Frenchie says:

Regarding the Telsa having Windows base system.

My car crashed last night. I’m ok, just turned it off then on again to reboot!

Looks good from the outside. Looks alittle like a DB9/Lexus.

  8. Ben10 says:

    Totally agree with Daniel

  9. Baji says:

Wow i love it. If this really is a Tesla, they definitely have a winner on their hands. Proof that electric cars don’t have to all look like a wedge of cheese. Takes cues from 3 of my favourite designs, Mazda, Aston Martin and Jag. Very nice.

  10. Simon says:

Where are the front end pics???

  11. Bavarian Missile (.)(.) says:

mmmmmmmmmm, sort of Aston,Jagar and a lttle Mondeo thrown in !

Why show a pic of an unfinished interior ??

  12. Frenchie says:

Topgear tested a Tesla roadster. It didn’t do the 200 mile range that it claimed (more like 55). It takes 16 hours to charge up and is prone to mechanical break downs. The asking price in the UK is 92,000 pounds which once they start mass production will come down.

On the up side though it absolutely killed a Lotus Elise in a straight line!

  13. Phil says:

Frenchie, there’s been some speculation that Topgear made some of that stuff up for entertainment value.. Including the whole pushing it back into the garage. As much as I love Topgear, I wouldn’t rely on their technical accuracy. It’s just fun.

  14. Myke says:

I love it (apart from the interior).

  15. The Original Tom says:

“which has been reported as a Windows based system, which is a little scary.”

Hmm. I would have thought more flaming comments with a statement like that ;)

  16. Frenchie says:

Phil, made up for entertainment or not it is the perception that is given to this car.
I think this car looks great and once they get the bugs ironed out will be a great car. But one has to question about its reliabilty, costs and practicality.

  17. Frontman says:

Sorry OT but slow getting here today. However it doesn’t really need any comments as it is palin to see it has already pulled a blue screen :-)

  18. Tack says:

Microsoft Windows based system in center console?
We need upgrade system or fixed bags every single month !!!!
