Hopefully Saab will be able to improve their cars soon. I’ve always liked Saab’s quirky designs and features. Maybe with GM (mostly) out of the picture things may pick up?

I think it’s more about continuity.

I mean if Saab could have continued on with their novel, quirky cars from the 80’s, they wouldn’t have been bought out by GM.

Just as Jag used Mondeo bits from Ford, (wiper & mirror motors etc) this would mean that Saab wouldn’t have to start from scratch with another Tech supplier, which would further delay new models.

It doesn’t say Saab would have to use GM Tech stuff…
