Apparantly, Mitsubishi’s 380/Galant replacement, due 2012, will be rear wheel drive.

Well Mr Peter Harris… Are you another individually thinking australian with only one hand spare to type with? Some may think so. Why are you commenting on a Ford anyway? Got a bit of interest in tne big blue oval have you? Are you a bit insecure with ford and its advancements in technology and performance? Oh thats it… try to convince the public that can’t evaluate a car for themselves that a car with a bulge in the bonnet is a bad thing. Look over your shoulder, there is a really big green eyed monster right behind you. Oh sorry, that’s just your reflection, don’t worry too much. I question how you know what a pig with lipstick looks like anyway. Actually on second thoughts I don’t want to know. You just keep doing what you do so well just don’t put it on the net, and please, no pigs.

G6E it has to be the name for the new v6 coming out later in place of the current straight 6

Just a bit of inside info, as I work for Ford, the XR is here to stay, newly branded Fiesta XR4, Focus XR5, Falcon XR6 and Falcon XR8, see the pattern !!
You will have to wait till December to see what the G6 and G6E means, it will be used.

Ford will have to do better than that,bulging bonnet,give me a break.
The car might do ok in it’s first couple of months, but everyone will wake up and realise it’s still a pig with lipstick.

G6…hmmm…successor to F6 perhaps? E perhaps a gas variant? Why not, nobody has done it yet but its due, they’d make a killing.

Or perhaps the E is like Holdens ‘V’, a better equipped variant.

It would be a shame to see the ‘Fairmont’ name dropped. I think it will still remain but G6 & G6E could be luxury models as most of you have said. BUt then again, who knows if it is going to be used?!

I think that after going away from the name Forte’ to XT maybe the “G6″ is the new “XT” & and “G6E” a E gas version. makes a good point and im sticking with the other guys.

Bare in mind, Ford has the registered TM’s for Territory R5 (TM 982764) and Territory R3 (TM 982766) which were registered back in Dec 2003 which they have not yet used.

Speculate away!

I am off to the Trade Mark Office site to see what is said on it!

im totally with you on the “E” but no one seemed to want to run with my idea. im sensing a it more marketing from ford with the gas falcon now. Sounds like this….. now you can get the all new falcon with the optional G6E motor for greater fuel economy and less green house emissions. sounds better than calling it “E-Gas”

Thank god there are some pics out on the internet about the new falcon. I’d have to agree with half of you and say it is a code for a luxury model, but if you notice how the rear quater door pannel was covered? Skip your mind back to the phase three when the door had the big lump in it, could that car driving around on them pictures be the new GT or the GT-HO? Only time will tell.

I would have used those names on a 6 cylinder car, so given that the Mondeo is either 4 or 5 cylinder, I doubt it will be on the Mondeo.

We will have to wait and see what they use it on, if they do decide to use it.
