FPV prices cut by more than $15K

Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) has slashed more than $15,000 from the price of select models in its range as it enters its final year on the market.

Confirmed to close at the end of 2014, Ford Australia's homegrown go-fast division is offering remaining 2013-build FPV F6 models with leather upholstery and satellite navigation for $54,990 driveaway.

Normally, the F6 with leather and sat-nav ($2950 and $1200 options, respectively) would cost $68,540 before on-road costs, and well over $70,000 driveaway, representing a saving of more than $15,000 for the turbocharged 310kW/565Nm 4.0-litre inline-six sports sedan.

Remaining 2013-build FPV GT models fitted with leather and sat-nav are also available from $64,990, representing a saving of well over $10,000 compared with the supercharged 335kW/570Nm 5.0-litre V8 model’s regular $74,940 list price (inclusive of options).

FPV is also offering a 2.9 per cent comparison rate on finance across its range of 2013-build models. The finance deal is available at participating dealerships for vehicles ordered, delivered and finance approved by January 31.

High-performance rival Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) is also advertising factory bonuses on selected 2013-build Gen-F models excluding the flagship GTS.

One Sydney dealership quoted a price of $59,888 driveaway for an entry-level HSV ClubSport manual, representing a saving of around $5000 based on the 317kW/550Nm 6.2-litre V8-powered sports sedan’s regular $60,990 list price.
