MG: New Cars 2014

Details of the new additions to MG Australia's showroom in 2014.

MG 3 (February)

After a low-key return to the Australian market earlier this year, the now-Chinese-owned MG brand is set for an explosion of new product in 2014, supported by 10 to 12 new dealers across Queensland, NSW and Victoria. The big news is the arrival of the MG 3, a front-wheel-drive, Ford Fiesta-sized five-door hatch powered by a 78kW 1.5-litre petrol engine. The car is claimed to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 10.9sec. According MG Motor Australia, the MG 3 will arrive in five-speed manual form in February/March 2014, with a five-speed auto to follow in Q2. Pricing will start at around $15,000, stretching to $19K. The larger MG 6 will also be refreshed for the new year, with a dual-clutch box joining the existing manual in the third quarter, with top-of-the-range pricing still under $30K.
