Timo Glock stunt driving at Calder Park

The circus is most certainly in town here in Melbourne as we count down to the first round of the 2009 Formula One season and Melbourne's first twilight race.

The cars are bumping in and the drivers are arriving from whatever tax free principality they call home and slowly it's beginning to feel like race week.

Toyota driver Timo Glock is already in town and as he did last year, the affable and approachable German driver has found ways to entertain himself and please his sponsors at the same time.

So it was out to the barren wastes of Calder Park we journeyed to find Timo learning to drive a HiLux in all manner of non legal ways: on two wheels and drifting with the Toyota HiLux Heroes providing the coaching and cars.

The following video shows Timo's attempts at all of these manoeuvres and well as some rather scary moments when he was attempting to do some synchronised donuts with one of the HiLux Heroes drivers who had AFL legend James Hird on board. Eventually a car did mildly tag the wall, but no one was saying who did it as it happened off camera.

After showing off his skills at stunt driving, Glock will now turn his focus to the 2009 Albert Park race where he will be hoping for a better result than last year, when he exited in spectacular style after running wide and launching his car into the air- and into the promotional videos for the 2009 race.
