Canadian Chrysler dispute over

The dispute at a major supplier of Chrysler parts in Canada we reported on yesterday is today over with workers and Canadian Auto Workers union officials ending their occupation of a Chrysler parts factory in Windsor, Ontario.

The workers and union officials, who had welded doors shut at the Aradco factory to prevent Chrysler from removing its tools, ended their occupation this morning (our time) after Chrysler got an injunction in a Toronto court ordering them to leave. The factory made engine mounts and other products for Chrysler, which is now moving its tools to another supplier in Windsor.

Negotiations between Chrysler and Aradco's parent company, Catalina Precision Products, broke down last week when workers were told not to report to work. Their dispute was over severance pay.
