Choppers with infra-red radar.
A stolen car has no chance of evading the above day or night.
Chopper radios police cars and those cars position to lay mats ahead of the stolen vehicle which gets its tires shredded.
Game over.
Problem: Govt will not spend the money. Police Commissioner actually said he does not want choppers.
Doh !

I agree I support cops chasing cars… fair enough their is risk involved but if it was known they dont chase you, then all the criminals will start using a vehicle as their means of escape because the cops wont take em down!!! In this sense, the knowledge that they MAY chase them acts as a preventitive measure in making some people stop before a chase can begin, because they think they will get caught no matter what.

Despite all the risks i think the cops have evry right to chase a car. Otherwise evry time you steal a car you can get away just by speeding away. Just look at american cops.
