I believe BMW’s purpose in making this car was for people who wanted a further and higher viewing position but not the clumsy driving dynamics of SUV’s (compared to lower cars per se). At first I thought it was a ridiculous idea. Also it looked as ugly as anything I’ve seen and 4 seats? It’s also bigger than a X5 with less boot space. A rear view only abit better than a Lambo, all seemed completely nutters.

After seeing it in person afew times, I now think it looks great. I don’t know why but I do. Most days I drive a SUV (not by choice) and I can understand why certain ppl would like a more exciting drive without sacrificing the driving position. My friends usually appreciate the space and height of a SUV too. Usually I’m on my own during drives so what’s the point of 5 seats?

I’m sure there are plenty of people interested in such a weird idea of a car. Not everyone wants the practicality of a SUV, some just want a similar size car to slay apexes in.

As for the 5 series GT or PAS, it’s actually the most customer focused car they’ve developed. It’s a car crafted from what their customers told them they wanted in a car that was not already in the BMW lineup.

This car is all of my dreams summed up. You couldn’t create a more perfect car. I love BMW’s commitment to building brilliant cars. Maybe someday I will have one…

  3. Revhed says:

I admire BMWs guts in building the thing but…

…has anyone sat in the back of one of these for any length of time? I’m shorter than the average guy and I find them very claustrophobic.

So we have a an overweight performance SuV (not much utility) for empty-nesters who want to “make a statement”. Hmmm

  4. antoz says:

    it’s multifunctional car
    it’s real suv
where ever u go x6 will follow u
    i’ts the vehicle i want

  5. reconcile says:

Unlike the quality products out there that have some necessary function this car has none.

Lets face it. These cars will never see the dirt/rocks off road. It will never climb a gutter. The most action it will get is the shopping center car park as some short person struggles to do a reverse park in under 5 minutes

Its merely a fashion accessory for those with more money than sense. The same as a haircut or suit. just much more expensive.

For the same price you could buy two BMWs. A dedicated sports coupe and a comfy sedan. Why buy this monstrosity?
BMW wasted RD money on this crap!

  6. JENNIE says:

I DONT LIKE IT.FOR THE PRICE I DRIVE 3 FORD TERRITORY ST AND IT IS MORE NICE TO DRIVE.SO SAY YES TO FORD ST’S

  7. Alex says:

Yeah Jennie, I’m sure the Ford Territory is a nicer drive. Oh wait, no it isn’t. In fact it doesn’t even start to begin to start to compare. Read the plusses; The engine, noise, handling, looks, performance, presence, cool-factor, everything else. I don’t think the Territory has any of those things; except and engine of course, but not one that compares to a BMW twin turbo V8.
Have you driven this car? Well I don’t need you to answer that for me, you obviously haven’t.

  8. Luke R says:

Hi all I’m 29 have two kids age 2 and 5 we have had some fast sports cars and a Mazda cx9 luxury very nice family car.As i have kids i have to adhere to the so called family cars and as a result i find myself disappointed in my choice of cars until i saw this BMW X6 twin turbo V8 thank you soccer mum’s. My wife loves it i love the V8 so we are going to buy one really a nice car but i will admit i will take it off road cause i can, as i took the Mazda and that was a total surprise it went everywhere. And the looks of pure disgust i got priceless.

  9. Karl says:

BMW X6 looks like a male Baboon on 4 wheels, and from a rear view you guessed it a Baboon’s ass.
Looks of pure digust would soon turn into laughter for anyone seen driving this $120,000 dumb expensive beast, why so much engine power given to this i dont understand.
Also the all over curved design of these european safety cars have been round for a longtime now, future new car buyers will want something alot different.
