Citroen C3 facelift arrives, new Exclusive spec added

Continuing as the entry-level model is the Citroen C3 Seduction, priced from $19,990 – driveaway until December 31.

The pre-facelift 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine, however, is replaced by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine used in the Peugeot 208 Active that also costs the same price. Still allied to a five-speed manual only, the new engine makes 60kW of power, 6kW more than the old larger engine, but only 118Nm of torque, 42Nm less than before, though 4.5L/100km consumption is a substantial 2.4L improvement.

A new 88kW/160Nm 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine is also borrowed from the C3’s PSA-cousin, the 208, but is only available with a four-speed automatic transmission priced from $22,990 (plus on-road costs) in Seduction specification - $1K less than the equivalent 208 Allure automatic.

The Seduction automatic also gets 16-inch alloy wheels, compared with the Seduction manual that includes 15-inch steel wheels with hubcaps. Both score a Zenith super-sized windscreen, LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, leather steering wheel, cruise control, manual airconditioning, power windows front and rear, and electrically adjustable folding and heated door mirrors.

A new Exclusive specification (pictured) has also been added, available singularly with the 1.6-litre automatic transmission from $25,990 (plus on-road costs).

Equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, front centre armrest, climate control air-conditioning, rear view camera with sensors, satellite navigation, automatic headlights and wipers, and an electro-chromatic rear-view mirror. Black leather trim is the single option.
