Mahindra targets Europe with student-designed concepts

A collection of student-designed Mahindra concept cars has been revealed as part of a collaborative research project into European market-focused transport solutions.

Attempting to create vehicles appealing to European motorists, students enrolled in the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Turin's Car Design course were instructed to focus on two key transport solutions: Urban Minivan and Compact SUV.

Following a brand research and design research stage, and working in groups, students developed their respective concept car proposals while identifying solutions compatible with Mahindra’s requirements.

The three student designs that best satisfied the initial brief were then selected as the finalists.

These three were the Bee (pictured top) by Alex Vasil Imnadze, the Core (pictured above) by Denald Jasini and Michal Sebastian Ptak, and the Shroom by Aldo Maria Sica (pictured below).

Produced in a 1:4 scale and put on display at the IED’s Turin headquarters, the Indian car maker is yet to announce if any of the concepts will lead to or inspire a production model from the brand.
