Magnum MK5: Canadian supercar teased

A brand-new supercar from Canadian manufacturer Magnum Cars has been teased just days before its unveiling.

Dubbed the Magnum MK5, the new car is said to be a lightweight, high-performance two-seater that is both street-legal and track-focused.

Claiming to offer racecar performance and supercar build quality and styling, Magnum is yet to announce any details of the MK5 but says it will be its first creation to hit the international track-day market.

Only briefly showing the MK5’s low and aggressive front end, a wing mirror and roofless cabin and what appears to be a rear engine cover peeking from under a cover, the teaser clip is shot in the shadows of strips of vertical LEDs.

With a background in open-wheel motorsport dating back to 1968, Magnum Cars says its vision for the MK5 is to offer "an awesome driving experience" that combines "the latest technologies, techniques and material" with "bold styling" to "pioneer a refined and innovative driving platform".

The new teaser follows an earlier clip that simply showed the whole car covered up in front of the same vertical lights (pictured bottom).

The Magnum MK5 will be revealed in full on October 30.
