After seeing a few Mondeos on the road now I’ve come to the conclusion they look ugly.
I cannot get used the those ugly head-lights and tail-lights and they look too bloated on the road….next

great progress, bring it in I say. Hopefully the LPG tech is top notch rather than older gas tech.

Saw some interesting stuff @ the Melb Motor show with an F6 310 on gas dyno’d to the same power so no performance degradation is possible.

No – LPG is quite uncommon here (UK), so much so that the local supermarket chain removed their LPG fill-up.

Tuesday and Thursday this week I drove 1080k’s each day over a ten hour period (two 5hr splits). I stopped once each way for comfort breaks of 5 mins. Each trip driving a Vectra 1.9CDTi with no stops for fuel (58litres of fuel each trip). You don’t need an “Eco diesel” to do this.

Also the Mondeo sold in the region of 700plus cars last month according to Frontman.
So basically everything you wrote above is factually incorrect. Good contribution there eh!

850km on petrol OR ethanol? Are you sure you typed that correctly? How on earth does it do that when ethanol needs to be run far richer than petrol?

Good concept though. Basically it’s just a typical dual-fuel car that can also cope with a high percentage of ethanol in the petrol tank. Now all we need is E85 to become readily available at the pumps.

Supercujo, god your life must be soo difficult if you have to go to, dare i say it, TWO fuel pumps during one fuel station visit. The fuel attendants actually prefer if us LPG people fill both tanks then pay as it is faster instead of paying separately.

I think this is a brilliant idea, they can use LPG only for as long as they please, while they can leave the petrol tank with say 1/4 just to keep the fuel pump submerged and for emergency use and to save weight. But the reason i think they have the duel fuel system in the UK is because there isnt as many LPG stations around as australia. Good idea i think, lets BRING IT Ford.

The new system for the LPG falcon is due at the start of this year.
Interesting to note that the “Old tech” ford system can out do the “new tech” system for economy

Agree on the carrying extra fuel around thingy though
