Daimler has received more than 30,000 orders for its flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, less than three months after the model was launched.
Mercedes-Benz Cars head of sales and marketing Ola Kaellenius said a statement, “The new S-Class is already back in the lead for new vehicle registrations in Germany and neighbouring European countries.”
By comparison, in 2012, Daimler sold just over 65,000 S-Class models.
The new-generation car, pivotal to the group’s growth strategy, launched in the US last week after going on sale in Europe in late July and China at the end of September.
The sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class will arrive locally in December with prices and specifications to be announced closer to launch.
