CarAdvice spies 2010 SsangYong Actyon in Melbourne, Australia

CarAdvice has spied SsangYong's new Actyon undergoing drivetrain testing in suburban Melbourne, ahead of its release later this year.

The finished, pre-production model, fitted with Drivetrain Systems International's six-speed automatic gearbox was spotted driving through peak hour traffic outside of Melbourne's CBD.

The outgoing Actyon suffered from design flaws - you could say - so you can bet your bottom dollar that the new model will look much better. Not that it would be all that hard to achieve.

The vehicle in the picture above is the same vehicle seen testing overseas in freezing conditions. Fitted with a left-hand-drive drivetrain, the front end of the vehicle pictured features the Actyon's new design.

CarAdvice will keep you posted with any further developments. The same company working on the new Actyon, which recently stood down 400 workers, is also tinkering with Mahindra's Pik Up, which is also likely to get a revised model in the near future.
