ABC – no different to what I see in Broadbeach or Main Beach, Gold Coast, where a lot of the best cars are driven by nouveau riche who have absolutely no idea what they are driving beyond the badge.

Yep ABC your right there,it is a status symbol,to show how well your business is doing. Each time Ive been to Hong Kong I cringe when I see the Glamor cars driving around in the bedlam of Kowloon traffic. There is no where to park ………

In those sort of places, high performance luxury cars are bought for the glamour, not for the passion. So it makes sense for these cars to be bought so that they get stuck in the traffic, on narrow roads, or spend most of the time parked rather than driven, to attract maximum attention and envy.

Yeah, I have a few sort of friends who are singaporean, one (a young lady) has a worked gallardo. I am told you have to pay a fortune to buy a licence to allow you to buy the car, before you even get to buy the car itself.

Singapore is much worse than Hong Kong and Japan… no matter where you go there will always be people with money who want high performance cars

every time I’m there I’m certain to see stuff like two Ferraris having a dice in fairly dense traffic

I think I lost count of the number of AMG Mercs in the city.

it is bizarre that they have such a market for these cars in Japan in particular. Once you are off the main roads, a lot of the city roads are tiny, many with no footpaths, and really barely enough room for 2 cars to go abreast. With the width of the ferraris, I’d have thought they would have real trouble getting around.
