Is it a GT or a mock-up.Fancy after all the years hes owned it he can now afford to fix it its still sitting broken in the garage :(
This film isnt for bogans its for car enthusiasts, those that get into the car scene and the mateship behind it .
Having owned a XA GT Coupe since I was 19 years old,{yes thats 24 years} I can totally understand what the XB means to Eric. Hes rebuilt it 4 times ? Know how that feels too! It never stops………….
If you have a wife or girlfriend drag her along to the film, she may have a better understanding of why so much time is spent in the garage. :)
Gotta do something about that intro music!
Can’t wait to see this, not happy that
it was due to come to cinema’s march 12.
But is not being released until early april :(
Ha ? Who said its not being released till April now ?
There already showing on internationals flights………….
BM,
It would appear as though at this stage some states don’t get a March 12 release. ie “Selected cinemas”.
Cheers Brett,that sucks!
First mad max in his XC now eric in his XB just shows you why the falcon is the best in this country. No holdens anywhere
I think you’ll find the Toecutter was in a Holden.
Sure, he died in a fireball and his coffin was the size of a shoebox, but hell, it was all in a Holden…
Tom
PS the station master in that scene was Reg Evans, who died in the recent Victorian bushfires. RIP.
All the holdens couldnt keep up with the interceptors. I am the night rider a fuel injected suicide machine. Love it when mad max says lets all go for a drive.
I love Bana and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the new Star Trek. The cast for this show is great!!! The have Simon Pegg playing Scotty (Chris Doohan has a scene with him) and Zachary Quinto is Spock.
I must say that this is the best looking crew ever, + they can act. Bonus.
you don’t see them making a movie about a torana or monaro do you!?!?!
or as the bogan’s say….toooorana….monaaaaaaro
long live the GT!
BK, the first mad max coupe was actually a xb gt with the kit on it !
Actually I’m pretty sure the donor car for the original interceptor was an 2 door XC Fairmont GXL.
Nah it was an XB Bret ,I dont think they made a XC GXL Fairmont Coupe, just the Fairmont. I had one, Red, tweed interior ,302 auto.

They are talking about making a Mad Max cartoon, but Mel has declined to do the voice……….
Heres a link to the Coupe.

i always drive along the back roads of Anakie where parts of the movie was made. There was a few scenes made in geelong and i bet it be good to see mad max driving along the new ring road now that runs through that area in his coupe. Max in his interceptor on the new ring road now that be awsome. They should redo the scene with the toe cutter and mad max in pursuit with his interceptor blowing those tacky holdens of the road. Fords live on for ever just ask max and GM holdens die and go bankrupt just ask the toenail cutter. hahahaahah
the “hero car” was a black xb gt coupe in the first movie, and if you look closely you can actually see the blackouts on the bonnet from when it was standard, the later cars may have been xc’s
BM, corect and correct.
In fact the XC Fairmont headlights were part of the Concorde nose kit, desiged by a Ford stylist.
The coupe in the movie was an XB GT, there were two yellow XBs and a yellow XA car. The nightriders car was a 6cyclinder munro (sounds dubbed in).
The rectangular headlamps on the coupe were not XC ones, which were much larger. The orginal coupe now lives in the CARS OF THE STARS museam in England.
as i have had a genuine xbgt coupe 4 26 years not only can i relate 2 mad max 1+2 luv the beast actually bought tears 2 my eyes as it really is a struggle 2 hang on 2 something that noone else seems 2 like
but as long as that 4v tunnel rammed beast continues 2 put a tingle in the spine f**k them all!
