Honda Odyssey drops to $35,100

The Honda Odyssey is now available from $35,100, after the local division cut prices by $2000.

Following a price reduction in December 2011 that saw the entry price of the seven-seater drop from $39,100 to $37,100, the Honda Odyssey has now been cut to $35,100 or $37,990 driveaway.

The flagship Luxury model has followed suit dropping to $42,920 and $45,990 driveaway, down from $44,920 and a pre-December 2011 price of $45,920.

Powered by a 132kW/218Nm 2.4-litre petrol four-cylinder and a five-speed automatic transmission, the base Honda Odyssey rides on 16-inch wheels and features a multi-function touchscreen with satellite navigation that displays the reversing camera and DVD player. The unit also incorporates Bluetooth/USB connectivity with audio streaming.

The top-spec Luxury gains tri-zone climate control, HID headlights, fog lights, aero bumpers and side skirts and 17-inch alloy wheels. Rear parking sensors remain optional on both models.

To the end of August, Honda has sold 674 Odysseys in 2013. While that makes it the third best-selling people mover behind the Kia Carnival (1865) and Hyundai iMax (998), it’s also down 42.5 per cent on the same time last year.

2014 Honda Odyssey manufacturer's pricing:

  • Honda Odyssey – $35,100 ($37,990 driveaway)
  • Honda Odyssey Luxury – $42,920 ($45,990 driveaway)
