Volvo teases new coupe concept ahead of August 29 reveal

Volvo has teased an upcoming concept car due to be revealed later this month in the lead-up to September's Frankfurt motor show.

Seen briefly in four images in a clip released by Volvo, the two-door concept car’s design is put into the context of the Swedish brand's design background.

Featuring Volvo Group head of design Thomas Ingenlath, the teaser clip suggests that while designs of the past may have been deemed ‘vanilla’, "The vanilla days are over".

Appearing, by the rear-mounted badge, to be named the Volvo Concept C Coupe, the car features large front air intakes, a sleek glasshouse, slender wing mirrors and C-shaped LED tail-lights.

Though not shown in this latest video teaser, an image of an unnamed concept car (pictured bottom) has been seen around the web this week, which, based on the front end details including the grille, side air intake and headlights, could well be the new Volvo concept.

Stay tuned for the full reveal planned for August 29.
