It wont even look like that IF it comes out.. or goes pass the stylign phase.

Extra front lamps?. Automotive engineering these days are pretty much reducing cost.. do you guys know lamps with wires, electronics can cost up to $20 bucks a piece.. and thats OEM price... imagine 100K a year production.. and that amount is HUGE.. for something not needed.. and in this case makes the car looks worse...

Not to mention the hard points,.. bumpers/bonnets these days (like last 2 years) are designed to be "soft".. rigid enough but soft enough not to break bones.. crash/pedestrian requirements... they becomming really restrict...

all and all.. that CGI is basically.. just that..

the body shell however could look like that... from memory, the side view of that CGI looked nice... but the front itself looks too

"OMG Dan has made this comment on a Toyota thread :-o "

I knew you would be impressed! :P Back at work from holidays :(

Seriously, this car looks too 'bubbly' for me...

But I'll reserve my judgement when it comes out though, lots can change. Hopefully it will have some kickass perfomance!

It should come out under Subaru because it looks to exciting and not boring to be a Toyota. If it was to go into a face lift and make it boxy, big and old man looking it would fit in well into Toyota. It looks like back in the days of the Celica and when Toyota use to have fun with car making.

I'm huge Celica fan and to know that they are going back to RWD makes me giddy in excitement. I have been deciding to get a new car as my GT Four is a little expensive on the repair side of things. Was looking at a S15 but I can wait 2 years :D

The only thing is the design is horrible. Good news there will be 2 versions, so... What ever one looks the best that's the one i will be getting.

If they ever come with te-37 out of the factory Toyota or Subez can have my money NOW!

Just more proof that the koreans are just a step ahead at the moment. What are we doing wrong?

Dunno if the above comment is sarcasm.
But out of any manufacturers you use GM...

lol...

Either way, Toyota should always have opted for the Celica to be RWD or 4WD. The mid 90s Celica (exception of GT-Four) and the next model after it clearly were mis-targeted to the wrong audience.... females.

I think this will be sold under Toyota in Australia IF it comes out at all... everyone is losing money and sports cars are very small in terms of market share and profit makers for manufacturers.

Subaru is a prestige brand in Oz and any performance cars they have are priced well above 35K in which this car has always been rumoured to be below...

I'd price it under 35K, with a turbo charge model at 40K.
To attract young people.. cut out the extra features, mainly electronics and it should be feasible.
