LaFerrari driven by Fernando Alonso

Ferrari has released a brand new clip of two-time Formula One world champion and current Ferrari F1 driver Fernando Alonso behind the wheel of its LaFerrari hybrid supercar.

Filmed just before the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, the clip shows Alonso hammering and sliding the 708kW/900Nm-plus Italian stallion around the track taking full advantage of its 9250rpm rev limit, 6.3-litre V12 engine and F1-derived HY-KERS hybrid system.

Teamed with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the rear-wheel-drive LaFerrari claims 0-100km/h in less than three seconds, 0-200km/h in under seven seconds and 0-300km/h in 15 seconds. It also tops out at over 350km/h.

Both Alonso and his F1 teammate Felipe Massa have been involved in the LaFerrari project from the very beginning, helping Ferrari's team of engineers and test drivers in the development process.

Only 499 LaFerraris will be built over the next two years, priced at 1.3 million euros. That makes the hybrid Horse 20 per cent more expensive than its English rival, the 673kW/900Nm McLaren P1.
