Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro ‘Ender’s Game’ movie car revealed

The futuristic Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro has been revealed ahead of its virtual debut in the big-screen adaptation of the award-winning novel Ender's Game.

The visionary concept is the result of a collaboration between Audi's design team, film director Gavin Hood and his production team, who together used the latest animation technology to digitally integrate the Fleet Shuttle Quattro into the space-age environment of the film.

It marks the first time Audi has developed a purely virtual vehicle for a feature film, yet the premium German manufacturer insists the car has been designed according to the same ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ (Advancement through technology) philosophy as its production models.

“Designing the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro was similar to customising a tailor-made suit,” chief designer for the film project Frank Rimili said.

“We adapted it to the requirements of the world in ‘Ender’s Game’ and at the same time had to take care to preserve our brand values. We were ultimately able to perfectly project our design philosophy into the fictional world of the movie.”

While starring in the film alongside the likes of Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford, the piercing, low-slung Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro concept also serves as a preview of the brand’s future design vision, which may influence next-generation sports cars like the Audi R8.

Ender’s Game debuts in Australian cinemas on October 31.
