Hi all,
I’ve just bought an SRI Astra Turbo 2006!
I’m stepping out of my VY SS, which had so much power. I had a AAA exhaust system with pacemaker extractors! I used to have an AH 2005 Astra & missed it! Please tell me your thoughts, was I mad going from the SS to the SRI????

dan or who ever likes knocking the holden.xr5 what a box got the looks of over compact box with no curves turbo whistles if you like headaches.over all sure a little more power haddles like shit.and the mazda turbo sure its 190 kw with nothing else to offer looks like my mum in a car going shopping handdles nothing like the astra..mazda got no curves or lines just power to head it into a tree..look at it chassis faults it will fall apart while you get to your so called high speed..the golf what a car my grandpa would look ok driving it.the renault just like the french cars looks like shit never would turn a young girls eyes,,ahh the astra turbo sri sure its not the most powerfull car who cares can not use all the power on road anyway..the cute lines and curves girls cream looking at it the suburu looks like weetbix packet on wheels when you compare the beauty of the astra..sri turbo..it was voted best package turbo of the year by motor mag..best looking car by far compared to all the other turbos.by the way the astra was tested and compared to the mazda tubo.the outcome mazda won if you wanted a fast car,but also the astra turbo go the best looking car and best handling car faster around bends than the mazda 190 kw..and cheaper.yes ok i byest i own a turbo astra and i picked it up on special with the holden discounts plus it was a demo.now listen to this all you motor heads try picking up a quality car built in europe in australia for 26,000 on road with rego..looks i won in every department..i rather own 2 sri astra turbos than one shit box subaru ha ha ! !!!!.lets see who can beat that..like to hear something so cool..i was driving down jetty road in glenelg thats a sea side suburb in adelaide where everyone usualy goes.by luck i mean luck the car in front of me was red ferrari i was in middle the car be hind me was a red monaro wait the monaro was red my astra is red too..3 top red cars i was feeling so cool and the women its too hard to imagine something better..so guys get over it the astra turbo is the cutest looking car not the fastest but the allrounder..

The author has a problem with Holden, that’s for sure. Who would be stupid enough to reveal his prejudice by heaping $hit on the Commodore SS when writing about the Astra SRi Turbo…?

Of course he looks like a fool now, because we all know the SS offers almost unrivaled bang for your bucks, in terms of performance and practicality, and it looks great!

^You also said the rear of the Commodore looks like the rear of a 380. I believe people can have their own personl beleive’s or opinion’s of the lok of car’s but HOW THE HELL does it look the same or EVEN SIMILAR!?!?!?!?!?!? No way near!…………………………..and you said the side of a VE Commodore looks similar to the side of a BA Falcon. Ummmmmmmmm………..OK how does it? The side of a VE Commy is slightly sloped on a very minute angle that you can see not completey flat and level like the BA Falcon.

And by saying 3/4 of the VE is sourced from Asia and you using the falcon as an example, you must be saying the falcon is.

Hi guys, just bought an 03 Astra Turbo and love it! Only thing is i am looking for a performance chip that takes it to the same output as the VXR (147 – 176), any info out there? cant seem to get anywhere

That is the best review on an Astra I’ve ever seen. Good job who ever wrote it, Alborz i assume. It pins down the Holden Astra to a tee!

And for those that are comparing the HSV VX-R to the XR5 you should be ashamed of yourself. I don’t see FPV in front of the XR5 name! Compare the VX-R to what it should be against. That would be the hopefully upcoming Focus RS. The XR5 should stay as a rival to the Astra SRi.

Ford Focus would be my pick with a 2.5Volvo turbo engine you just cant go wrong,Alborz is right about he’s comments.
