2009 BMW Z4 Roadster at MIMS
February 27, 2009 by Matt Brogan
The all-new BMW Z4 Roadster made its Australian debut at MIMS this morning showing for the first time its two-piece retractable hard-top guise.
Available with three power plants, the Z4 Roadster is offered with 2.5-litre, 3.0-litre (both normally aspirated) or 3.0-litre twin-turbo charged engines, the latter of which produces 225kW of power and 400Nm of torque to propel the car from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds.
The retractable roof stows or unfolds in 20 seconds and is made from aluminium to reduce weight – as are the front guards and bonnet.
Standard equipment includes leather upholstery, cruise control, park distance control, electromechanical park brake, electronic diff lock, dynamic driving control, bi-xenon headlamps, heated seats, bluetooth and iPod connectivity.
The Z4 Roadster is priced from $86,200 for the sDrive23i model, $98,100 for the sDrive30i and $116,900 for the range topping sDrive35i.

No doubt there will be a mix of opinions about the looks with this car, but IMO… WOW!!! That looks awesome!
Sounds like BMW are keeping that renowned twin-turbo 6 for it too!
I hope it looks as good as this in the flesh – simply stunning. Love to see a comparo with the SLK. Hint-hint….
6 series ass and front dont do it for me, and the pricing! ouch!
moving on!….
Looks great, price ouch. However the type of person that drives this car can afford it.
If you do buy this car make sure you don’t wear a stupid hat. Make sure you get a short haircut, and please no wigs or comb-overs as illustrated in TopGear UK episode on convertibles.
