Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio built from body art

A new Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio has been built out of people for a new ad from the brand's North American division.

More than a dozen female artists, models and contortionists have been painted, posed and photographed as a Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio for a new magazine ad that featured in the just released Body Issue of ESPN The Magazine – an annual edition.

Shot by photographer RJ Muna and made possible by body artist Craig Tracy, the ad is accompanied by the tagline, "Made of pure muscle".

Fiat North America head Jason Stoicevich said the notion of athletic grace conveyed in the ad sparked a perfect union between the athlete-devoted magazine and the car brand.

"We wanted to create a concept for ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue that was as visually unique as the Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio," Stoicevich said.

The Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio is powered by a 118kW/201Nm turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder and is priced from $38,990.
