2009 Porsche Boxster & Boxster S at MIMS
February 27, 2009 by Matt Brogan
The Porsche Boxster and Boxster S have gone on show this morning at the Melbourne International Motor Show featuring a 2.9-litre (188 kW) and 3.4-litre (228 kW) engine in each model respectively.
With the clear advantage of excellent power-to-weight ratios, the Boxster and Boxster S manage maximum performance on minimum fuel, particularly when fitted with the brand-new Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe or PDK gearbox.
This unique double-clutch gearbox allows the Boxster S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds (or 5.8 seconds in the standard Boxster).
At the same time fuel consumption has improved to now average 8.9 litres per 100km in the Boxster and 9.2 litres in Boxster S.
Pricing begins at $113,000 (RRP) for the Boxster manual.
