Bugatti to celebrate 100 years with special edition Veyron
February 25, 2009 by Matt Brogan
As Bugatti prepares to celebrate its centenary this year, rumours abound of a special edition Veyron being readied for next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
Sources close to Bugatti say the 100th anniversary model will be named, aptly, the Centenaire Edition, which promises to be the fastest Veyron yet with 1005kW enabling a top speed in excess of 419km/h.
We can also expect masses of exposed carbon fibre and a unique body kit though presently no further details are available.

Sure, this sounds mind-blowingly fantastic, but the endless array of ’special’ editions (on any model) seems to dilute the ’specialness’ of an already unique car.
Is it just me??
Surely you mean 1005 hp?
No Jimmy, we’ve confirmed it with our source – 1350hp / 1005kW
Pretty amazing really.
How many ’special’ edition Veryon has there being already? Perhaps they are struggling to find buyers for the Veyron, hence the need for constant release of ’special’ editions to keep the Veyron in the headline.
Oh My!
What a cracker…I don’t care if there are a million special editions, this is a car I want to see more of. Simply stunning.
Does anyone in Australia have one?
@SamR
I think I remember reading in the newspaper that someone in Sydney crashed one (i.e. wrote it off)…*sob*
Thanks for clarifying Matt. That is absolutely insane!
I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the mechanicals are good for a reliable 2000kw, but the problem is getting rid of the heat …….
Hmm… nice to see one of Paul buddies handling this one. I am hoping he does more than 51 coats of Z2pro for this beast.
