Citroen DS2 to debut at 2014 Paris motor show: report

A Citroen DS2 that would further expanded the brand's halo DS range could make its world debut at next year's Paris motor show.

According to a report from European-based Auto Plus, the five-door Citroen DS2 hatch will be added to Citroen's DS line-up alongside the DS3, DS4 and DS5 following its Parisian premiere.

To be based on the new Peugeot 208, and take styling inspiration from the rechargeable hybrid Citroen Revolte concept (pictured) seen at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show, the report suggests the DS2 is likely to encourage individual personalisation options in the same vein as the Mini Cooper and Fiat 500.

The new DS model remains unconfirmed by the French manufacturer but an engine line-up including a three-cylinder, four-cylinder turbo-diesel and turbocharged four-cylinder sourced from BMW has been suggested.

The Paris and Frankfurt motor shows alternate yearly with this year’s Frankfurt event starting on September 10.
