I don’t think the will be any question regarding the off road ability of the ix35 as Hyundai have proven them selves with Santa fe.

Saw this car in the city of sydney today being followed by a film truck, obviousley doing a commercial, in the darling harbour area. Obviousley no disguise and sporting manufacturer style ‘iX35′ number plates on it.

“Hyundai’s new six-speed automatic transmission will deliver power to all four wheels”. The previously published article on Hyundai’s new auto tranny made no mention of being a dual clutch unit. Interesting then that Hyundai’s 19Feb09 press release about their “urban nomad ‘ix-onic’ crossover concept” states that it uses a “double-clutch six-speed transmission”. Strange indeed…

Looks great and hopefully other aspects will be much improved to the quality of the new i cars, but Hyundai copied the Dualis’ concept name of urban nomad. That is no coincidence.

Looks promising but I wonder what sort of off-road ability it will have. Knowing Hyundai, the new car will be well thought out & made & should complement their range. As usual though, there will probably be supply problems when its first released, but I cannot wait to see it down here in Australia.
