HSV to auction motoring ‘history’ for Victorian Bushfire Appeal

HSV has today annouced that it will auction off the front fender from the HSV W427 which collided with a wall of tyres at Oran Park last year.

HSV goes on to say that the prize will also include a 'hot lap' with Garth Tander (who happened to be at the wheel when the W427 was stacked into the wall) in a HRT lap car. The auction winner also receives lunch with the man himself at HSV's Clayton headquarters.

Tander says that the money raised will be a small, but needed contribution to those who have lost everything in the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, dubbed 'Black Saturday'.

Tander said:

“So many people have lost everything and both HSV and HRT wanted to put together a unique opportunity to make a donation to this most worthy cause.”

‘I’d urge all V8 Supercar fans and motoring enthusiasts to get behind this auction – not only will they be supporting a really worthy cause but it’s a chance to own a pretty special piece of motoring history.”

With a reserve of $1,000, the auction is set to finish at 4:25pm on February 27th, 2009.
