2010 BMW X5 M interior spied

Having already conquered the Nurburgring, the forthcoming BMW X5 M has been spied cold weather testing in northern Scandinavia.

The extent of its M-division visual tweaking is clearly identifiable by the various patches of camouflage covering this prototype, including the signature side-vents and larger air intakes up front.

These latest images also give us our first glimpse of the M-division interior, which includes the usual addition of M badges and colour-matched stitching on the sports leather steering wheel.

Like the X6 M, the new X5 M will feature BMW’s powerful twin-turbo V8 engine which is expected to produce over 370kW.

BMW X5: sneak peak of 2013 next-generation SUV
BMW is set to broaden the design of its 'X' family as shown by this rendering of the 2014 BMW X5 by German magazine Auto Zeitung. Most prominent is the new grille, which is both larger and wider than the current design and similar to that seen on the latest generation 3-Series.

2013 BMW X5 spied
BMW has been spotted testing a prototype of the next-generation BMW X5, expected in 2013. This is the first time a prototype of the new model has been seen in public. The 'F15' BMW X5 will be built on a heavily revised version of the BMW 5-Series platform.

    Recently saw the current version of these stuck on a mild slope in 50mm snow unable to move then towed out by a LR Disco. Buy the Disco instead far nicer.

    Was that really worth reporting on? It is no different to the interior on the stock X5. I think the M Division are going a bit far releasing this. The X6 I get because it is more orientated toward being a sports car but the X5 is simply an SUV. They should have just stuck with the X6. Or to not bother at all would have been much better.
    The least they could do is give the option of a manual transmission. That would have clawed back a shred of dignity for this car.

    Cupid, I agree. I would much prefer a Discovery too. However, to be fair, BMW never made any claims that the X5 even had the most basic off road ability so it can’t be insulted for that. BMW actually made it very clear that it had no off road ability. And the Discovery still feels like an SUV, the X5 more like a car.

    Also, I hope BMW offer that colour and other odd ones like it. BMW’s colours are all so boring right now, especially the choice of about five you get if you want an M car.
