Mercedes-Benz exec to head Citroen
February 13, 2009 by Matt Brogan
PSA/Peugeot-Citroen has hired Mercedes-Benz sales executive Jean-Marc Gales to head the Citroen brand.
Gales, a 46-year-old citizen of Luxembourg, will take the helm at Citroen in March, replacing Gilles Michel who left Citroen last December to manage the French government’s new strategic investment fund.
PSA/Peugeot-Citroen said Gales will be nominated in mid-April to a seat on the French carmaker’s five-person executive committee.
Currently, Gales is global sales director at Mercedes. He has held a range of management posts with Volkswagen, BMW and Opel.
