A 2013 Nissan GT-R has defeated a 22,000hp (16,405kW) jet fighter in a drag race organised by German-based N-Magazine.

Filmed at an airstrip in Switzerland, the Nissan GT-R, powered by its 404kW/628Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6, comfortably demonstrates its 2.7-second 0-100km/h capability against the British-made Rolls Royce-powered Hawker Hunter – a fighter jet developed in the 1950s.

Watch the video to see the ground battle take place before the jet heads into its natural environment.

N-Magazine is a publication entirely dedicated to Nissan customers, while the GT-R versus jet test was organised by Nissan Germany.

I think you mean car vs jet test rather than plane vs jet test.

The GTR is a brutal machine.

    Such a shame I can’t afford one…..GTR or Jet.

for $60K-$100K you can get a working mig17 minus the 37mm canons

Impressive, but they probably picked that particular jet to make it close, but let the GTR ahead. Hawker Hunter’s are ancient and are also single engine, non-supersonic, non reheat with a thrust to weight ratio three times less than some other fighter jets.
Gas turbines also taken several seconds to completely spool up, so I wonder if the pilot fully loaded it on the brakes before launch?

This kind of test is becoming a bit of a cliche with sports car manufacturers. Audi R10 vs Harrier, Bugatti vs Eurofighter
